The environment was so much different back then


Most fans and experts don't realize the environment at the time and the lack of highways and transportation - when I was little and travelled w family to family in swva from tidewater there was no interstate no 4 lane highways - it took us ungodly time to drive across the state - imagine the difficulties of driving from chapel hill to swva- was no direct way to get there- great hearing from one of the last folks from those times
